The LG WM3431 Front Load All-in-One Washer / Dryer is a compact front loading washing machine with the added convenience of having an integrated clothes dryer. It does a great job washing clothes, and although not as efficient as a stand-alone dryer, the added convenience of having one machine do the laundry load from beginning to end is appealing to many people.

The LG WM3431 has nine wash presets with all of the standard functions you would expect of a front loading the washing machine. The dryer does not require an external vent like stand-alone dryers. So above the convenience of having an all in one unit, the LG WM3431 is also suitable for apartments, offices, or homes which don't have dryer vents installed.

As a compact machine, the LG WM3431 has a limited load capacity of 8.8 pounds. This is suitable for single people or small families, but will not stand up to the washing needs of a large family. There are six spin speeds up to a maximum of 1400 rpm which is ideal for removing excess moisture before going into the dry cycle. Like most front loading washing machines, the LG WM3431 has an automatic water level mechanism which adjusts to the amount of clothes being washed up. Water temperature can be set to one of five levels.

The electronic controls are easy to use and clearly labeled. There is also an end of cycle signal and a time remaining indicator.

The LG WM3431 washing machine is a bit on the noisy side as it will vibrate a lot during the spin cycles unless perfectly leveled. It has a stainless steel tub which is easy to clean and will extend the life of the washing machine considerably. This washing machine is only available in white and comes with a one year Parts and Labor warranty.

In Use

The LG WM3431 washing machine is a joy to use. The convenience of having an all in one machine is a wonderful. Simply put in your dirty laundry and come back to a load of clean, dry clothes. There are a few things to get used to with this washing machine, but once you get the hang of it it is easy to operate. For one thing, it requires a low sud detergent and the lint trap must be cleaned after every use. Also, there is a little bit of water which must be drained from the bottom of the machine. This is a simple procedure and takes less than a minute. The drying time is much longer than a stand-alone clothes dryer, but the added convenience of having an all in one unit is good compensation.
